Coconut Chutney

Coconut Chutney:

This goes well with idli, upma and all varieties of dosa


Coconut  - ½ shell
Roasted chana dhal – 4 tsp
Green chilli – 2
Tamarind – a small size
Salt – to taste

For Tempering:

Oil - little
Mustard – 1 tsp
Urad dhal – ½ tsp
Chana dhal – ½ tsp
Red chilli – 1 (broken into pieces)
Asafotedia / Hing – ½ tsp
Curry leaves - few


Grate the coconut and keep aside.


Grind grated coconut, green chilli, roased chana dhal, tamarind with little water and salt in a mixie to a smooth paste.
Do the tempering.

Coconut chutney is ready.
