Ragi Samiya Upma

Ragi Samiya Upma:


Ragi Samiya – 1 packet
Onion – 1 big sized
Green chilies – 2
Salt – to taste

For Tempering:

Oil – 3 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dhal – 1 tso
Chana dhal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few


Dice onion into fine pieces.
Slit chillies into two.

Immerse the ragi semiya in warm water along with salt for 1 ½ minute.
Drain the water completely and place it in the idli steamer and steam it for 5 minutes. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and do the tempering.
Now add onions, green chillies and sauté till onions turn pink.
Add the steamed ragi samiya and mix well.  Add salt if needed.

You can add grated coconut to the ragi samiya before removing it from stove.

Serve it hot with coconut chutney J See you in another recipe!
