Vada Paruppu / Vada Pappu / Split Moong Dhal Salad


Vada Paruppu / Vada Pappu / Split Moong Dhal Salad:

This salad is eaten raw and uncooked. It is very simple to prepare. It is prepared on Shri Rama Navami as Neivedhyam to Lord Rama.

 
 
Ingredients:

Moong dhal – 1 cup
Grated Coconut – 3 tsp
Green chillies – 2
Coriander – 2 small springs
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Salt – to taste

Preparation:

Wash the moong dhal well and soak it in water for around half an hour.
Chop green chillies, coriander into fine pieces.

Method:

Drain the soaked moong dhal.
To this add grated coconut, chopped green chilli, chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice, salt and mix well.

Vada Pappu is ready for Neivedhyam
